Abstract: Gamification, the application of game-design elements in non-game contexts, has the potential to enhance engagement and motivation in vocational learning. This study explores the effectiveness of gamification in vocational education and its impact on student engagement and learning outcomes. The objectives are: (1) to identify gamification strategies used in vocational training, (2) to evaluate the impact of these strategies on student motivation and engagement, and (3) to assess student and educator perceptions of gamification in vocational learning. A survey research design is employed, justified by the need to gather detailed feedback from students and educators on their experiences with gamification. The sample size comprises 300 participants selected through purposive sampling to include a diverse range of vocational training programs. The case study focuses on vocational schools in Oyo State, which have implemented gamification techniques in their curricula. Findings indicated that gamification strategies, such as leaderboards, badges, and interactive simulations, significantly enhanced student motivation and engagement, leading to improved learning outcomes. Both students and educators reported positive experiences with gamification, noting its ability to make learning more enjoyable and interactive. Recommendations included integrating gamification elements into vocational curricula, providing training for educators on effective gamification techniques, and continuously assessing the impact of gamification on student performance.
